Teppen founded in 2004 by like-minded individuals who identified a growing need for a quality management service company in the local automotive manufacturing industry. Each partner brought years of experience in senior management across the automotive, industrial and mining industries into this new venture. The original office location was Queens Square in Cambridge, ON. Initial business activities consisted of sorting and containment projects across southwestern Ontario. The business expanded shortly after launching to include a CMM division that was focused on providing 3rd party dimensional inspection. This required a separate lab facility which was originally located in an industrial plaza in Cambridge on Bishop St. In May of 2005, the CMM Lab was achieved its accreditation to ISO 17025.
The two service divisions proved to be perfect complimentary service options and it expanded the business opportunities. Soon Teppen had staff in Strathroy, Stratford, Mitchell, Kitchener and Milton. In the winter of 2006, Teppen amalgamated the lab and head office to one central location in Woodstock. The office on Pattullo Ave is still the corporate head office today, and its location has proven to be the ideal central location to service our customer base.
Staffing provision was rolled out 2008, when we were approach by one of our customers to replace their current agency. They were impressed with the quality of our inspectors, the uniformity of their appearance in Teppen branded shirts, and most specifically how we managed and serviced the onsite the various operations. Teppen is proud of our willingness to embrace new customer challenges, and suddenly the staffing division at Teppen had been created. We applied many of the same management principles that made the sorting division successful to our new managed temporary staffing projects.
Further changes to the business in 2010, as we added a new office location Strathroy on Caradoc St South. The office was purchased and then renovated to accommodate our growing needs in the Strathroy community. A proud achievement was earned for our staffing and sorting divisions, for both Woodstock and Strathroy, when we achieved our accreditation to ISO 9001 in June of 2015. This accreditation aligned our quality management system with the majority of customers who are accredited to IATF 16949.
Our scope and operations were further expanded in October of 2019 when we launched our new location in London, ON. This branch has been steadily growing in business since its inception. This location has increased our service area by allowing us permanent location to recruit and onboard new employees on behalf of our customers.
The ownership, locations and business services being offered have changed over the years, but one core principle has never wavered, Teppen is committed to working with our customers to help facilitate solutions to challenges and doing so form meaningful business relationships built on honesty, integrity and trust.
